We are happy to announce the start of the Binance BCAT2022 Round is scheduled to start on June 4, 2022 in Eastern Nigeria.
BCAT which is short for Blockchain and Cryptocurrency Awareness Tour is a program, an awareness campaign with the aim of making multitudes of Africans across the continent aware of the many opportunities that abound in the digital economy.
BCAT Africa started in 2019 as the CampusBCAT movement by CryptoTVplus. A campaign with the goal of spreading blockchain education to those who matter most; Nigerian students in tertiary institutions.
Throughout 2019, the team traveled four (4) Nigerian universities to reach out to students and expose them to the many opportunities in the digital space. In 2020, BCAT was held online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since its inception, BCAT Africa has reached over 60,000 Nigerians since its inception.
Africa is home to over a billion people in more than 50 countries, and it is a continent with one of the relatively largest populations of young people. It is filled with a large amount of natural resources, but many people are impoverished and supported by foreign aid.
There is a need to take advantage of the surrounding resources and create a prosperous society for Africans. Apart from natural resources, the internet offers many opportunities that Africans can harness to build a more prosperous life and society.
With a vision to empower millions of Africans through education, BCAT Africa is poised to bring knowledge of the digital economy to Africans across the continent beyond Nigerian campuses. To help people learn about the many opportunities the Internet offers, unlock innate potentials and empower them to take advantage of the resources, tools and opportunities the digital economy offers.
