Camptoo acquires the sharing economy platform Out2Camp


Netherlands/Scandinavia: Motorhome and motorhome rental marketplace Camptoo has announced the acquisition of Nordic sharing platform Out2Camp.

Camptoo, which was founded in 2014 in the Netherlands, connects owners and renters of motorhomes, motorhomes and touring motorhomes. Ranked the fastest growing travel agency in 2020 [FT1000]Camptoo users have booked more than 500,000 days in vehicles rented through the site since its launch.

The company is using the acquisition of Out2Camp to expand its fleet of motorhomes in the Nordics, which means Out2Camp’s portfolio of campervans in Sweden, Denmark and Norway will be available for rental bookings through the Camptoo website from the end of this month. Camptoo currently has over 1700 vehicles listed in the UK and over 4000 in Europe, along with a further 400 listings in Australia.

Meanwhile, Out2Camp is considered the premier sharing economy platform for motorhomes in the Nordics, having been co-founded by Frederik Rofors and Bo Christensen in 2015 in Denmark. Since then, he has built up a clientele of more than 10,000 travellers.

Martijn Peeters, CEO and Founder of Camptoo, said: “The acquisition of Out2Camp is an important step for Camptoo as we seek to grow our international fleet. With Out2Camp’s current fleet of 400 motorhomes and motorhomes across Sweden and Denmark, our goal is to become the leading motorhome rental platform in the Nordic market, with a fleet of over 1 000 motorhomes in both countries by the end of 2022.
