Gnel Sanosyan discusses energy cooperation with Georgian Deputy Economy Minister


Armenian Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Minister Gnel Sanosyan and Georgian Deputy Minister of Economy and Stable Development Romeo Mikautadze discussed energy cooperation, the ministry’s press service informed. Armenian Territorial Administration of NEWS.am.

During the meeting, Sanosyan praised the level of Armenian-Georgian cooperation. Sanosyan said that it is important for Armenia to develop collaboration in the energy sector because the two countries have great potential in this sector which, given the appropriate infrastructure, can be implemented with hit. Minister Sanosyan highlighted the construction of the 400-kilowatt Armenia-Georgia power line, which he said will become a new impetus for the expansion of bilateral cooperation in the energy field and give new impetus to regional cooperation.

Mikautadze, in turn, highlighted the effective cooperation between countries in this area. In particular, the Deputy Minister informed that Georgia will move to the next stage of energy market liberalization from September 1 this year. He expressed hope that cooperation with Armenia on this platform will also prove fruitful.
